Newest hotel on the block! The Mercure Kuta Hotel, located next to the Hard Rock Hotel has a boutique look to it with earthy colours and extensive use of thatch roof, but has a cosmopolitan feel to it. The pool and deck area is found on the roof of the lobby and is amazingly designed ? again with thatched roof bales, a sunken bar and infinity edged pool which gives the impression of being a part of the vast Indian Ocean. Rooms are fresh in appearance and design and are luxuriously appointed. The difference between standard and superior rooms is the view, and for a few dollars more, I recommend the superior rooms where you can sit out on your balcony at any time during the day and enjoy the sea breeze and ocean view.
